Massages have many benefits which is why I believe that they’re more of a necessity than an indulgence.

Some of those benefits include relief of pain, stress, insomnia, migraine headaches and other aliments.

Massages have a therapeutic hormonal affects as well.  They help to decrease the stress hormone cortisol and increases dopamine and serotonin.  These affects ease pain, improve your mood, lower your heart rate and blood pressure and promotes healing in muscle tissue.

Some hospitals and insurance companies are offering massages as a regular therapy because of these, and other, known benefits.  Be sure to check on the therapies available to you and take advantage of these great benefits.
