Imphepho (Eriocephalus africanus) is a traditional African medicinal herb, also known as African wormwood, impila, and umhlonyane. It is native to South Africa and is traditionally used as a wound dressing. The herb has also been used to treat colds, flu and infections. Imphepho has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It is also a powerful immune booster, and pain reliever.
Imphepho can be taken as a tea or tincture. To make a tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried imphepho in 1 cup of boiling water for 10 minutes.
