Need help with your thoughts? Try these 4 practices to quiet a racing mind.

  1. Take deep breaths: Deep breathing can help calm an overactive mind and reduce stress. Focus on inhaling for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four. Repeat this a few times until you feel your mind and body relax.
  2. Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness is a form of meditation that helps you stay in the present moment. This can help quiet the mind and reduce stress. Try to focus on your breathing and observe your thoughts without judgment or attachment.
  3. Exercise: Exercise can help reduce stress and quiet an overactive mind. Whether it’s a quick 20-minute walk or a more intense workout, it can help you clear your head and refocus your thoughts.
  4. Get Some Rest: A lack of sleep can cause stress and anxiety, which can lead to an overactive mind. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night to help quiet your mind.
