Sleep is vital to your health, healing and well-being. The quantity and quality of your sleep impacts how you function throughout the day, your mood, energy levels, hormones, etc. Unfortunately, far too often, you don’t get enough sleep which makes it difficult for your body to do all of the mending and provide you with the energy you need.

I believe you’re ready to change that, so here are 5 tips for getting more sleep.

  1. Establish a consistent sleep routine: Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, even on weekends, helps to regulate your body’s natural circadian rhythm.
  2. Avoid screens before bed: The blue light emitted from electronic devices can interfere with your body’s natural sleep cycle. Try to avoid using screens for at least an hour before bedtime.
  3. Exercise regularly: A regular exercise routine can help you feel more rested and energized throughout the day. Just be sure not to work out too close to bedtime as it can make it harder to fall asleep.
  4. Avoid caffeine in the afternoon: Caffeine can stay in your system for up to 8 hours, so try to avoid consuming it after lunchtime.
  5. Make your bedroom a sleep sanctuary: Reserve your bedroom for sleeping only and make sure it is a cool, dark and comfortable environment.

Which of these options are you going to try first? Let me know in the comments below.
