Our local produce market has an amazing variety of fruits and vegetables for equally amazing prices. So whenever I’m trying a new recipe, I go there to buy fresh herbs and spices.

The challenge is that I always have so much left over and I know that if I don’t use it quickly, it’ll go bad. So I decided to figure out a simple way to preserve them.

I don’t think there’s anything more simple than these herb infused ice cubes.

All you need to have in order to make them is an ice tray, water and your herbs. Simply chop the herbs or remove the leaves from the stems. Then place them inside your water filled ice tray. Place the tray in the freezer and that’s it!

This process works for herbs like mint, lavender, rosemary or basil. You can then place the ice cubes in your water to add a bit of flavor or you can add the ice cubes directly to your recipe. Just remember that it’s going to add more water to whatever you’re making.

So tell me, what do you do with your left over herbs?
