Listening is an art; a gift that should be practiced and valued. You have to stop what you’re doing and pay attention in order to truly listen to what’s going on around you or what’s being said to you.
You hear noise throughout each day and have developed an ability to tune out that which you don’t find valuable. But this practice can become a habit until the only thing you are left listening to is your own voice within your own mind.
I encourage you to seek out the audible treasures that are worth lending your ear to – your dear friend’s story, a great audiobook or words of compliment from a stranger. When you begin to listen to the good the world has to offer, you begin to tune back in and instantly hone in on the quality sounds available to you. Simple pleasures like the wind blowing through the trees, an uplifting song, and a child’s laughter can become sounds to live by, to enhance your life, your health and your well being when you begin to truly listen to what’s important in the world around you.
Whole living inspires you to immerse yourself in sounds of healing, encouragement, love and peace. Find those things in your life, turn the volume up and make each day more vibrant in the process.
Take a moment to close your eyes, open your ears and quiet your mind so you can hear what’s going on in your space at this very moment. Now, seek to hear the best from the world each and every day. There’s so much worth listening to.
