  • YES!!! It's Monday! And the day is bursting with possibilities! • As I meditated this morning, I became overwhelmingly thankful that I'm living the life I prayed for.   • “I can’t relax! That sounds so boring. It’s a waste of time and productivity.” • In that moment, I decided I didn’t want to be that type of leader of women. I couldn’t force myself to dwell in dis-ease in an effort to stand out, accomplish more and appear powerful. • That type of pace makes my soul weary and diminishes my impact. • I needed to practice rest and allow the refreshing waves to wash over me regularly. • That’s why it’s so important to know who you are, how you’re designed and what your goals are. • You don’t have to keep pace with any other person.   • Oh, I’ll go, she said. Always quick to give up her seat, or space, in the room. • I don’t know if it’s avoidance or an inaccurate depiction of her worth that makes her do it. But I’d had enough. No, you don’t have to leave. Stay right there. • I was trying to remind her that her light wouldn’t be diminished simply because more light entered the room. She could stay, participate and enjoy herself no matter what was going on around her. • What I’ve learned is that we spend so much time worrying about what others will think, say or need, that we don’t honor our own thoughts, feelings and desires. We deem them insignificant and not worthy of mentioning. This goes way beyond being humble. This goes into a dangerous territory where we stop offering our gifts in the service of others and we begin to hide and shrink, confusing who we are and distorting what we’re capable of. • Our lives start to resemble everyone else’s because we’re just trying to blend in, not step on any toes or take up too much space. • Well, forget that. • That’s the exact opposite of what you’re here for. • You’re supposed to bring your amazing to the table. You’re supposed to let your light shine. As usual, I had to give an extensive response because I maintain an arsenal of tools to help me find harmony. • Aromatherapy, journaling, breathwork, prayer, meditation, etc. I use whatever is necessary to initiate healing, maintain wellness and optimize my health. • And of course I believe you should too. • There are endless paths to healing.   • The phone rang. The family was calling from the waiting room wanting to know more. • Surgeon: Tell them everything is going well and I’ll be out to talk with them soon. • It’s normal for families to call into the operating room when their loved one is in a long surgery. Those who are experiencing the distance between the OR and waiting room walls simply want to know more. Here’s what I’ve observed after taking so many of those calls: • Waiting, without any knowledge of what’s going on, can seem excruciatingly painful. • Keeping your mind under control and occupying your time with things that seem so insignificant during the wait is an art. • And knowing offers a bit of relief, but it really doesn’t change anything. The process must take place whether or not you know what’s happening. Whether or not it’s uncomfortable and time consuming. Whether or not you actually want to wait. • So let me know, how do you practice patience and stillness in the moments when you want more clarity? How do you continue on the journey without any idea of what lies ahead? How do you focus on what’s in front of you and trust the process? • I’ve found that those who are confident about the process are much more patient with the journey. Has this been your experience?
