Perfection. The elusive, unobtainable ideal we too often strive for.
Perfection will paralyze you, leaving your goal out of reach, telling you your work isn’t good enough and that something is incomplete. There is no truth to this.
When you’ve worked hard and given your best effort, perfection becomes a lie, deceiving you into believing that you shouldn’t move on, you should try harder or completely start over. This deceitful cycle prevents you from ever sharing your work and producing something of great benefit.
You will never know what can be enhanced until you do share your work. Testing out a product, sharing a service, tasting the meal, developing the image, writing the book; you simply won’t know what, if anything, needs improving until you get your work out there for someone to experience.
You may be holding onto the greatest gift the world needs right now; and if not the world, maybe your neighbor or a friend or someone in need.
Resist perfection and do something with everything you’ve got right now. It will be enough because you are enough. You can always enhance your work over time. As for now, get started. You have something to offer. Don’t keep it to yourself.
