I love making new things. Sure, most of what I make will never reach museum status, but that’s okay. I thoroughly enjoy starting with a blank canvas and coming up with something that wasn’t there before. It’s one of the many ways I connect with God. I love to allow the free flow of His creative power to exude through me, giving me a glimpse of His boundless imagination.
I’m currently making some fall and winter items in my studio. I’m taking on new projects and expanding my making abilities. I’m also reading a book called A Million Little Ways, Uncover the Art You were Made to Live by Emily P. Freeman. It’s clear to me that each and every day is an artistic expression of the life we choose to live; painting a canvas with our choices, weaving a pattern with our attitude, and molding the lives of others we have been blessed to interact with. I think this book will describe our artistic ability in this way and much more.
Because God has placed a bit of Himself in each of us, we can all make beautiful lives and beautiful things if we’re willing to give it a try.
Off to make lunch and continue crocheting my infinity scarf. Oh, by the way. I have a new book on the way! Whew! Way overdue. Until next time….
