Your body has this amazing way of fighting infection and disease. This built in line of defense is your immune system.

Your immune system fights against germs and bacteria and attempts to get rid of anything foreign.

So, what does it mean to boost your immune system and enhance your body’s defensive system? Boosting your immune system simply means that you’re taking action to maintain the balance of your system.

Your body is made up of many systems and parts all working together to create a stable internal environment. So although there’s no quick fix for boosting your immune system, providing your body with a variety of healthful lifestyle practices over time will help strengthen and maintain its balance.

Your body is made up of many systems and parts all working together to create a stable internal environment. So although there’s no quick fix for boosting your immune system, providing your body with a variety of healthful lifestyle practices over time will help strengthen and maintain its balance.

There’s no better time than right now to begin stabilizing and enhancing your immune system. So, here are my 3 tips for supporting your immune system:

1. Get quality sleep

Getting enough, high quality sleep will help restore your energy, stabilize your hormone production and fortify your immune system function.

You can give yourself the best chances of staying asleep by getting as comfortable as possible before bed. Make adjustments to the temperature in the room, wear cozy clothes and use high quality linen, write down your thoughts in a journal to calm your mind, use lavender or roman chamomile aromatherapy, either in the form of a diffuser or linen spray, and alter the sounds by either adding relaxation music or eliminating as much noise as possible, whichever works best for you.

2. Enhance your nutrition

I strongly believe that the food you eat either nourishes, heals and restores your body or it leaves you defenseless. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a few treats, but when it comes to boosting your immunity, avoiding an abundance of sugar is just as important and adding an abundance of nutrients to every meal.

Staying hydrated helps to remove toxins from your body, so drink plenty of water throughout the day. And make sure that your meals include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The more colors the better because they each provide different nutrients and work together to support your immune system.

3. Decrease your stress

Stress wreaks havoc on your immune system. When you’re constantly worried, full of fear or on high alert, it causes your internal environment to work overtime, weakening your immune system’s natural and protective defenses. This opens the door for infections and creates an environment that diseases thrive in.

Doing integrative practices and relaxation techniques like prayer, meditation, breathwork, aromatherapy and journaling can help you relieve stress and stabilize your immune system function.

There are endless ways to relax, however; so do what works best for you and be mindful of your increased need for stress relief during times of crisis and transition.

Give yourself the best chance of avoiding unnecessary sickness with these immunity boosting practices.

So tell me in the comments, which of these practices are you already using in your wellness routine? Or which of these practices are you going to add to your wellness routine to boost your immunity?
