Sumach has antimicrobial, antiviral, antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Sumach can protect against liver damage, has a free radical-scavenging effect, supports metabolic and cardiovascular health and can help protect brain function. Sumach may also be beneficial for blood sugar control.

Sumach can be helpful in the healing of internal ulcers and inflammatory sores. It also aids with organ prolapse in decoction form, being used for both bladder and uterine prolapse.

Sumach tones tissues, helping to stop or decrease urine dribbling and excess urination, diarrhea, internal hemorrhages and night sweats. It’s also helpful for those with diabetes insipidus or the excessive wasting of water.

Even though Sumach is generally considered safe, as with all herbal remedies and medications, check with your care provider before use.
